What are you waiting for?

Welcome to the latest view from the ground. Times are changing, the world continues to throw forward further examples of why the masses must stand tall and be united as one – a real force from the ground. But, as they say, the show must go on.

“Empty spaces – what are we living for
Abandoned places – I guess we know the score
On and on, does anybody know what we are looking for…
Another hero, another mindless crime
Behind the curtain, in the pantomime
Hold the line, does anybody want to take it anymore
The show must go on,
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on.
Whatever happens, I’ll leave it all to chance
Another heartache, another failed romance
On and on, does anybody know what we are living for?
I guess I’m learning, I must be warmer now
I’ll soon be turning, round the corner now
Outside the dawn is breaking
But inside in the dark I’m aching to be free
The show must go on
The show must go on
Inside my heart is breaking
My make-up may be flaking
But my smile still stays on
My soul is painted like the wings of butterflies
Fairytales of yesterday will grow but never die
I can fly – my friends
The show must go on
The show must go on
I’ll face it with a grin
I’m never giving in
On – with the show –
I’ll top the bill, I’ll overkill
I have to find the will to carry on
On with the –
On with the show –
The show must go on” – The show must go on – Queen.

Wonderful words from the master wordsmith. A look into the future or a reflection on the times as they were.

I feel a heavy sadness as I look at the world today. When I look at our planet, from the top down as it were, that heaviness can be overwhelming.

I look at what has recently being happening in Turkey with confusion. Who was trying to achieve what? Was the the attempted coup in the name of love or driven by ego and power? But then, how many people disguise their attempts to change things as doing so in the name of love, but reality is ego and power are the motivation?

I know I talk a lot about One World and I will continue to write about my desire for just that. But my vision of One World is one where each person has the freedom to chose their own ‘beliefs’. Extremism does not have a home in that One World, but the power to follow your own beliefs does.

The atrocity in Nice on 14 July left the world heartbroken. An event in the name of extremism; an action driven by hate. The love of the world was directed to Nice in their time of need and this is another atrocity which screams out that we must heal this wound in the planet, lance out the poison and work together for a planetary recovery. We should look to find a way to gather together as one.

And then there have been the events in Germany. A world being challenged to live in fear, whereas we should gather together to raise the levels of love.

Let us to forget the consistent atrocities occurring in the Middle East and further afield. The global media focuses on attacks close to home as that coverage increases viewer statistics and sells copies, but the reality is pure evil is being seen on a daily basis in many countries which we do not hear about. OR in fact here who the potential perpetrators are. Ever wonder why?

But then, if I analyse further other divisions exist. In the UK we continue to see the destruction of our political system, all in the name of ego? They talk about it being for the good of the political party, and for the people. But, reality is that we should be questioning whether this is ego driven and, if so, why should we, the people, sit back and watch this going on? Surely, is it for us to say NO – enough. We want politicians in place who represent us the people. Not politicians who represent self and self growth, with a little bit of business sponsorship thrown in.

So, what are we waiting for?

In relation to politics in the UK, the Labour Party is going through a process of selecting their leader – even though they already have a democratically elected leader. A leader who was elected my the members of the party. However, the Labour Party MPs have decided that they have a louder voice than the members. Democracy or ego? Alternatively, for the love of the party or fear of a leader who speaks openly and honestly? Interestingly, circa 150,000 people have joined the Labour Party in time to participate in the leadership election. They are now waiting to have their say.

And then we have the Conservative Party – the government. Their leader, responsible for taking the UK to a referendum to decide as to whether remain or leave the European Union. He canvassed to remain, the U.K. Voted to leader. He stands down as Prime Minister. It could be argued because he didn’t have a clue how to exit the U.K. from the EU. It could be argued that he realised his mistake. It could be argued ………..

We then had the process of 5 people standing for leadership. One round of votes by Conservative MPs eliminated one; another stood down, and then there were three. Another round of votes by Conservative MPs eliminated another; another one stood down. And then there was one – who is now Prime Minister, without the Conservative Party members not having a say in who their leader is.

This is not a political rant or statement but just an observation on what I see and on what I think w could look to effect. What are you waiting for? We all have a voice, we all have the ability to raise that voice. But how many are will to? It could be through social media, it could be through joining a group of like minded, forward thinking people, it could be through writing a blog.

The important thing is to stand up and to be yourself. Not to follow blindly. But to stand true with your fellow citizens.

Yes, the show must go on but, perhaps, we can write a better next act to the show. One where we are one.

What are you waiting for?
